I also would suggest that you buy a electronic tuner, it will make tuning alot easier, especially since todays music is full of many different tunings, such as halfstep down tuning ( which by the way many bands in the early 70's thru to present day tend to use), Drop D tuning( very popular with almost all the METAL bands of the 80's and 90's), then there is DADGAG tuning( very popular with bands like SYSTEM OF A DOWN, and DISTURBED, as well as many more).
